What Is UGC NET?

The UGC NET (University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by NTA to determine the eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. It is held twice a year and covers various subjects, including Tamil Language & Literature.

Who are eligible for UGC NET Exam?

  • Postgraduates in Tamil or related fields with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Transgender).

  • Final-year PG students can also apply.

  • For JRF, candidates must be below 30 years (relaxation for reserved categories).

  • No age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility.
